I don’t suppose there is any way I could really convince you that the phrase “yanking your chain” originated here.
Still, I have to admit that I did think about giving it a try.

The distance between the cistern and the toilet looks to be something straight out of Alice in Wonderland — in that it’s all distorted. Very funky!
Indeed. They were about seventeen feet apart it looks like.
The higher the pot, the more potential energy of the water. This system actually worked better than our modern day toilets with les water. The problem, was simple. Its ugly.
I’ve also noticed the graffiti on the top part. Is that in latin? I’ve always thought it would be a far more civilized world if gang’s used latin in there graffiti.
What 17-foot person took the time to graffiti a cistern? This must be a very cultured culture. And tall one.
