FAA warning against carrying wrapped giftsWhen I was travelling within the USA this weekend, I had the opportunity to review the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Notice for Airline Passengers.

After reviewing the list of cautions and advice, and in particular the ultimate item, I understood why Santa Claus uses his own method of flight. Relying on commercial aviation within the US just wouldn’t work for St. Nick.

FAA warning against carrying wrapped gifts

With all his wrapped presents for the world’s population of good boys and girls, then surely Father Christmas would run afoul of the FAA.

Not too mention the baggage fees he’d be forced to pay, and the angry rants from folks stuck behind him in the security line. All in all I am sure it is actually cheaper and less hassle to just get a sleigh and some flying reindeer.

    @ Conall -

Baggage fees are a joy that I was not aware of before my rush of internal (within the US) flights of late. I knew that Ryan Air and that ilk was charging separately for bags, but I guess even now the US carriers are doing the same.

Seems a bit dodgy to me, advertising cheap fares to some holiday destination but then charging extra for whatever holiday-makers may need to bring along to enjoy the trip.
