Mist swirling about trees

Never in my life have I seen a werewolf, headless horseman, or any sort of ferocious fairy-tale creature.

Still, on days like this, when the trees are mired in a swirling mist, I get to feeling that I would not be surprised to see one bounding through the fog.

    Superstition! Everyone knows that the chupacabra has already finished them all off. Evolution, Geesh!

    Then, moments later he sees a large lumber black dog crossing the field and starts thinking “I knew I ought to have bought those silver bullets”.

    I can almost see a guy coming out of the mist … he appears to be stumbling home from Trader Vic’s.
