Recent Chicken Scratchings
REM’s Michael Stipe is renown for not only mumbling his way through songs, but also for not publishing lyrics in the liner notes. Over the weekend, when listening to an REM song on the radio, I became convinced that Stipe does not share the lyrics with Mike Mills (REM’s bass player and back-up vocalist) either.

I like REM and, as a result of this post, watched some of their first TV appearances on the David Letterman Show from 1983. Still don’t know what they are saying, but I like the way they sing it.
