On a recent trip to Ireland, one of our editors of rented a car from Hertz. Going to collect the car, our editor was surprised by the important notice pictured below:

Well, isn’t that courteous and helpful? Hertz courteously pays the toll charge for its customers and then helps itself to a bit of extra cash from customers’ pockets. Lovely service, that.

    Indeed, perhaps next time. I should have mentioned that this sign wasn’t actually visible until one RETURNED their car, at which point it has already happened and you’re simply retroactively being informed.
