Pancakes with a variety of toppings

Pancakes are a great food. They are easy to make, especially with all the ‘just add water’ mixes and cook quickly. They are wonderful comfort food and are readily available at cafes and restaurants (albeit mostly in the US.)

Perhaps the best thing about pancakes is that they can be smothered, covered or sprinkled with a wonderful variety of sauces and toppings. Maple syrup, lingonberries, whipped cream and chocolate sauce are just a few options. I sometimes like mine with only butter.

The other great thing about pancakes is the many names by which they are known: griddle-cakes, flapjacks, silver dollars and more.

So, survey here: What is your favorite way to eat pancakes and by which appellation do you most regularly refer to them?

For me, it’s flapjacks. Generally I go with butter and maple syrup. Sometimes, however, I like to switch it up with some red raspberry jam and powdered sugar.

This morning I went for pancakes with butter and syrup. A classic and wonderful flavor. Sadly, the cakes themselves were a bit gritty.

Sugar and lemon juice? Add some vodka and I’m all in.

Infused with apples and cinnamon, topped with lite syrup, and downed with love.

Do people like their flapjacks/pancakes fully cooked? I just had rather think pancakes that will still a bit doughy in the middle and they were phenomenal! I am not sure why I haven’t tried them this way before, but I am not sure I will ever want to eat a fully cooked pancake again. I recommend all try them “cooked” this way.
