Name that tool

During a recent road-trip, I saw what could only be described as a home-made cleaning tool. If you look at the photo below, you’ll see a red broom-handle with a tennis ball attached to the foot of the handle. Close inspection of the tennis ball shows that it is dark and worn from use. (Admittedly, the picture doesn’t do a great job of showing the wear-n-tear, but trust us, it’s there.)

So, today’s post then is a trivia game: For what purpose could this tennis-ball broom actually be used?

In a new city, you traverse the streets looking for any glimpse of something interesting. On occasion, you come across one of those glimmering details that makes you want to stop on the busy sidewalk and just laugh. To look around at all the locals who are preoccupied with their hustle and bustle and to beam with a soul-shaking smile.

This was one of those moments.

And I’m pretty sure I said aloud, “Bong. James Bong.”

Syrup from 2% Real Maple Syrup

Our Family brand syrup … for those mornings when you’re eager limit the realness of your breakfast.

Thanks for a reader from suburban Chicago for spotting the authentic humor in this not so natural syrup.

Don’t forget that you can share your own quirky thoughts and discoveries with us whenever you want.

I grew up reading the wonderful books by Stan and Jan Berenstain. They were great stories, beautifully illustrated and always with an important moral or lesson.

In reading through one of the books in the series the other day — The Berenstain’ Bears’ Trouble with Money — I grew concerned for the safety and welfare of Brother and Sister.

Consider the following excerpts from the story:

Note that Papa Bear shouts repeatedly, uses “figures of speech” and knocks furniture over. And all this is happening when we, the readers, can see. Imagine what he must be like when no one is looking.

It turns out that connecting to view your own screen over the internet (here I used the site join.me) is a quick and easy way to get a glimpse into the infinite expanse of the digital galaxy!

Feel free to click on the picture for an enlarged view, but be careful not to get sucked in!
