It was about 7.00 pm as I strolled past a little strip mall. I thought it odd that the butcher was open so late into the evening … until I glanced at the shop next door. Remind anyone else of Sweeney Todd?

I can’t quite shake the image of BBC TV programme about dogs on Korean menu ;-)

Hi Shefaly - I was flipping through the channels today and caught just a few seconds of that show. Started a conversation at home about the ‘rightness’ of eating dogs.

    @ Liam

I believe horses are readily eaten in some of our European cousins’ countries. Dogs may be in the same boat/ shed/ canal I think. I am usually game for anything that I am not allergic to but horses and dogs are difficult not to visualise.. (Jamie Oliver’s programme on chickens made no diff to me, oddly).

I’d agree. I think my own aversion to roast dog or a juicy horse-burger are more an issue of cultural upbringing rather than moral rightness. Dogs, cats and horses are hairy, meaty mammals just like cows, goats and sheep.

    So, bring on the hotdog!
