If you ever happen to be traveling in Argentina and find yourself stuck for a decision on where to eat, and you don’t feel any particular craving for a certain type of food, let me recommend this little place in the Palermo district, which I haven’t eaten at, but which is pretty much your typical eatery. Nothing to out of the ordinary, not exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Just about average in every way.

Is this restaurant open only to travellers? What if I am sight-seeing in Argentina with a local Argentinian (perhaps with my close personal friend, Lionel Messi)? Will Lionel not be able to join me in what promises to be a splendidly forgetful meal?

Like I said on Twitter, I really think there’s something comforting about what we know as the standard, in general. Different isn’t always better. Sometimes I just want a standard pizza or a standard t-shirt…nothing fancy. And it’s surprising how hard that can be to find!

Meg - Valid point. There is something to be said for having a standard to fall back on in times of indecision or even just when you need food, but nothing fancy. In that respect it is nice that this restaurant was good enough to call out the fact that it is such a venue on the sign.
