Um, that’s a lovely image. I use water or small ice cubes. Easier and perhaps more sanitary that way.

I have known certain nameless children who have suffered from “hot ear” and what I have witnessed them doing is to lick their first finger and then use that moisture to “cool” their ears. It is probably best to do this when no one else is around to observe you though.

Try using ear bud headphones. Nothing covering your ears.
