This is the grisly scene outside the front door of my ground-floor apartment. In the last two weeks I’ve opened the front door several times and noticed a pigeon flying away from the door whilst other pigeons look on from the lawn.
I know pigeons can be used to ferry messages, but can they also be sent on this kind of errand? Maybe I am wrong, but the scene seems awfully similar to high-schooler kids playing a prank on some unfortunate neighbor. Are these pigeons really so evil?
Note: In the pic below you can see that the pigeon droppings are not spread all around the front patio, just immediately in front of the door!

maybe they are trying to send you the note that you should move. when the pigeon was knocking on the door with its beak, you had the stereo on so you couldn’t hear them. After a few minutes, the bird got bored; realized it had to go to the bathroom and had no where else to go….literally. when you opened the door, it was frightened and embarassed and flew away
How long have the droppings been collecting? Is that a single day’s deposits or longer?

At least two weeks.
I was shocked, saddened and concerned to find a similar deposit on my own doorstep when I returned from a week or so away from my house. My guess is that a flock of Canada geese bombed my front door in my absence.
