A clown statue standing at the back of an ice cream shop in small-town Illinois.

And this little sign is standing on the counter beneath the clown.

“Please don’t touch me.”

Let’s just agree that we both go ahead and follow that rule, ok Mr. Creepy Clown?

Solid brick wall…or walkway?

brick wall walkway

Is this some sort of Harry Potter style walkway? You just need to believe it strongly enough and then it will be there?

Or has Wile E. Coyote been busy? I am sure I saw an episode where he painted a “cave” into the side of a mountain to try and trap the Roadrunner when the bird ran into the wall.

Or perhaps I’m just being to limited in my acceptance of the many people in the world who can walk horizontally along walls?

detailed instructions to wash hands

This type of sign seems to be popping up in bathrooms all over the place these days. Detailed instructions on how you ought to wash your hands. Now, I know a lot of people choose not to wash their hands when they finish using the toilet, but do we really think it is from a lack of knowledge?

That is the general question.  Now, specifically relating to the instructions on this sign:

  1. Do we expect people to carry around fingernail brushes with them? If not, are we providing them? If we are providing them, would it ever be more sanitary to use a communal fingernail brush than to just work the soap around your nails as much as possible by hand?
  2. Doesn’t washing your hands “up to your elbows” seem a bit much? If people are really not washing their hands at all, don’t we think a slightly easier to complete ask is in order?

Your thoughts please.

light fixtureI was a replacing a light bulb in my bathroom the other day and had some trouble putting the dome back. The holes for the screws were too small and too smooth for me to feel.

Then a thought struck: what if I had an extra eye, even a rudimentary one, on my fingertips? That would have made my job a lot easier.

Jump ahead to the next logical thought and my question to you: If you could move a sense organ around, which one would it be, where would you move it to, and why?

At the risk of being a buzz kill to the mischevious thoughts, we ask that in keeping with the good-natured spirit of CMD, you keep your responses reasonably clean.
