In case of fire … “PULL DOWN SIEMENS”

Sure, on my way out of the burning building, I’ll stop just long enough to bring a $20 Billion company crashing to the ground.

This strikes me as a fire alarm which would only really come in handy for extremely experienced and talented corporate raiders.

Seen on an advertisement card found in magazines. At first glance, a misuse of parentheses.

Maybe there’s some hidden subtext? The sentence without the parentheses reads “The most culture can buy”. Maybe the authors are hinting that there’s no point being cultured because all you get is a subscription to “Cheap Eats”.

As an (interesting) aside of (useless) trivia, these advertisement cards are called “blow-in” cards because they are blown in to magazines.

Spotted on 50th Street (or thereabouts) in Midtown Manhattan, the placard and matching standpipe heads made me think of that scene with the Siamese Cats in Disney’s Lady and Tramp.

Driving in the early evening, I spotted a FedEx van stopped ahead of me at the traffic light. It had something sort of paper or note tapped to its back door.

So, then I was a bit confused: Was it a reminder, like “Don’t forget the delivery to Seal Team 6″? Or was it more of an awareness campaign poster in light of recent tragedies befalling the fabled military unit?

I am not sure who Don 1 crowded is? Or, what Don’t crowded means?

This sign made me question how you avoid crowding because once you are in a crowd it is generally hard to get out.

Often you are crowding to look at something cool and you don’t want to miss out as you’ve paid for it … or you don’t want to get out of the crowd as you are trying to get to work in rush hour and you are already late and crowding is the only option …

It was after dusk, and the room was darkened and steaming hot.

Classical music was playing softly, coming in from far away, yet setting the mood perfectly for romance.

I thought I saw something gleaming on the floor, down amongst a collection of rare and exotic flowers that someone had clearly put a lot of time and effort into arranging for me to see.

And as I moved in closer, I saw written on a tiny note, “Smell me, I’m fragrant!”

I tell you what, if I was not in a plant conservatory and being given this message by a nice-smelling plant, I’d be a little creeped out right now.

With apologies for the slew of posts about Walgreens, I wanted to check something with you. Does it seem reasonable that Andre Champagne is $5.99 and a Whitman’s Sampler is $4.99, but that a Chia Pet is $15.99?!? And, is that with or without the 50% sale?

This empty box usually holds simple pamphlets with directions to the nearest hospital (or so we assume, given the label).

Seeing that it is empty makes me think, on the plus side, that directions were clearly needed from this place, so it is great that this was here!

On the negative side, for anyone who may have an emergency here now, I hope it is not TOO MUCH of an emergency!
