A meander down a snowy sidewalk in Cleveland, Ohio quickly turned into a quizzical pondering session when I crossed this patch of sidewalk without any snow on it. What’s under there that’s melting the snow anyway?

Is it just the building heating system, or could it be something more exotic or unsettling?

- Tip of an as yet undiscovered volcano?
- The apartment of certain heroes in a half-shell?
- A fire-breathing dragon?
- Cleveland’s nuclear arsenal?

Is this a cousin of Luke or Anakin? Perhaps a more distant relative.

So, then I was a bit confused: Was it a reminder, like “Don’t forget the delivery to Seal Team 6″? Or was it more of an awareness campaign poster in light of recent tragedies befalling the fabled military unit?

You may not be surprised to learn that it took me some time to get home that night.

(NOTE: I blurred out the destination in the top left corner of the screen as it is the home address of a family member.)

This empty box usually holds simple pamphlets with directions to the nearest hospital (or so we assume, given the label).

Seeing that it is empty makes me think, on the plus side, that directions were clearly needed from this place, so it is great that this was here!

On the negative side, for anyone who may have an emergency here now, I hope it is not TOO MUCH of an emergency!

As always, chickenmonkeydog is in no way a political blog and the editors have no opinion to express either way on the Occupy movement.  We are simply observing that choosing to gather hundreds of people on a bridge which you believe is “falling apart,” may not be the wisest plan.

Perhaps another location may have been a wiser choice?

Note: This event was scheduled to occur on November 17th, 2011 and based on the news coverage, the bridge condition did not cause any issues.

Woe is me! I thought a pile of leaves was tempting, but I know hopscotch built into the sidewalk is inhumane.

I want to know what joker of a driver was so persistent in trying to park in this spot that the owner had to go to such lengths to indicate that the spot is NOT ok to park in.

Seriously.

CONES ought to be enough.

CONES + CRATES would surely do.

CONES + CRATES + CAUTION TAPE should never be necessary.

Want a fool-proof and quick way to make someone look silly?

Take even the most coordinated of athletes and make them go running while carrying a heavy backpack.

Is this some sort of Harry Potter style walkway? You just need to believe it strongly enough and then it will be there?

Or has Wile E. Coyote been busy? I am sure I saw an episode where he painted a “cave” into the side of a mountain to try and trap the Roadrunner when the bird ran into the wall.

Or perhaps I’m just being to limited in my acceptance of the many people in the world who can walk horizontally along walls?
