If you find yourself in an airport at some point today, please keep an eye out for our Foreign Correspondent. We’ve recalled him from his assignment in India and are ordering him on some well-deserved R&R.

If you see our man in the airport lounge, please do buy him a beer, tea or coffee. You may even get yourself a little chickenmonkeydog souvenir for your troubles.

Operation Greenland

We like reaching out to new corners of the world, meeting new people and exploring new places. That theme was a big part of what got chickenmonkeydog.com off the ground.

In recent weeks, we’ve noticed that the good people of Greenland don’t seem to know about our fine blog. We’re saddened to think that the 57,600 who call Greenland home should miss out on what we enjoy 5 days per week.
So, this week we have launched Operation Greenland, a strategy to bring the red, yellow and blue of chickenmoneydog to that northern land. We’ve sent a postcard to Greenland’s Tourism Office — that was particularly exciting as we’ve never posted anything to Greenland before. (Have you?) We’re writing this post and we’re working behind the scenes to reach this important audience.

So, if you’re a fan of chickenmonkeydog and you like to help us reach out to the people of Greenland, then we need your email. Email your Greenlander friends. Leave comments on this post addressing your love of all things Greenland.

Dear Readers,
We have some big news to announce today! We wish we could say it is GOOD news, but let’s just say it is BIG!
Our brilliant friend and humorist Meg, who joined CMD as an author just about one year ago, is moving on to see what else the world of online creative writing has to offer. We’ve had an absolute blast having her on board and enjoyed the Meg-twist on our quirky outlook.
Please join us in wishing Meg a fond farewell! We hope she’ll continue to contribute by submitting guest posts (just like all of our readers can, including you)!
And with a flap of the wing, a beating of the chest, and a wag of the tail we at chickenmonkeydog wish Meg all the best!
The Almighty 500

The new year has been so hectic that we’ve neglected to share our celebrations with our wonderful readers. To correct that, we’re sharing now.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the publication of our 500th post! That’s 500 musings, ponderings and conversations on the little aspects of life that catch us by surprise, make us think or that perhaps, just perhaps, make us say ‘Hmmmm …’.
In thinking about our ’500′, we wondered about other significant 500s. Here’s what we came up with:
- Indianapolis 500 – very important to auto-racing fans
- 500 pennies – not so very valuable anymore
- Apparently, the Year 500 was a leap year
- Fortune 500 companies are pretty big
So, what other 500s can you add to our list?
P.S. Thanks for hanging with us for the first 500. Here’s to the next 500!
