Walgreens advertising sign

Thoughts that came to me as I first read this sign:

  1. Please, please … I hope no one gets me a gift from Walgreens on Christmas day. That would just be sad.
  2. Advertising to the disorganized and desperate.
  3. Would I be offended if I had a guest over on Christmas evening and, when opening our presents, I noticed that the gift receipt for my present was from Walgreens and time-stamped 5:49 pm?
  4. Walgreens should also offer a premium — read very expensive — wrapping service on Christmas as well.  They would make a killing.

What comes to you as you see this sign?

What comes to mind is that the so-called “war on Christmas” appears to be waged from the inside.

Should I have felt ashamed when I found myself in the Walgreens on Christmas, buying batteries for a present?

@ Liam, that depends. Did you ask them for gift ideas?

    @ Conall,

Nope … and to give me some credit, I was picking up batteries for a gift I did not give … it was a gift from someone else.
