Everyone has their likes, dislikes, quirks, peculiarities, issues, pet peeves, etc.  I try to be respectful of individuality, but I have to draw the line when it requires the office kitchen to be stocked with 2 different kinds of paper towels.

There is the standard roll of kitchen paper towels hanging from the cabinets and then underneath that there is also a pile of looseleaf towels like you usually see in a bathroom dispenser.

This has been the set-up for the last 2.5 years (at least), and I still cannot wrap my mind around it.  I finally asked a coworker and got a “I don’t know and who cares” response.  Apparently no one finds this as ridiculous as I do, but how can you look at this every day and not ask why?  I find it especially outrageous during an economy in which everyone is trying to cut costs.  Down with extraneous paper towel purchases!

Look at what we have here.

Car with student driver sign taped to the rear

A handwritten sign taped to the back of a car indicating that the driver is a “Student Driver”.

I have to appreciate the attempt to notify the other drivers, but is a handwritten note on a piece of loose leaf paper precariously taped to the spoiler really the best method?

Got a date with a fish?

Yesterday, whilst keeping an eye on the comings and goings of everything here at chickenmonkeydog.com, I came across an interesting search result that brought a visitor to our site:

Search results for watch english movies with dangerous fish

So, my thoughts were:

1) Wow, that’s kind of an odd search.

2) Was someone trying to figure out what movie to see when taking a dangerous fish on a date?

3) Why English movies?

Would whoever searched for “watch english movies with dangerous fish” please identify yourself and explain your actions?

A sharp-eyed reader from Chicago sent us a photo of a sign on Madison Street in Chicago’s Loop district. Our reader wasn’t sure what was ‘300 FEET AHEAD’ but he felt that we all should be warned about it.

Sign warning 300 feet ahead

Let’s hope whatever lies ahead doesn’t have an arm length of 305 feet!

Thanks to a Chicago reader for the submission! Please do send us your photos as we love sharing them with our growing readership.
